If you have ever wanted to get users interacting with each other here is how you can do it. On most account you will have the facility to add a chat room. There are two types a CGI chat room and a JAVA chat room both can be used on your web site Installing your own chat room First you must find the Chat Room icon within the control panel and click on it The following menu will then load. You can then enter a chat room by entering your name in the Nick Name text box and pressing the Enter Chat button. You may also want to put links to you chat room on your web pages. You can either have a standard HTML/CGI chat room or a JAVA chat room. The difference being that the HTML/CGI chat room will work with older browser (but these day most people have a Java enables browser) where as the JAVA chat room requires a JAVA enabled browser. To install the HTML/CGI chat room just copy and paste the text below “Put this html in your web page to make a chat room gateway” and then your users will be able to enter your chat room by entering a nick name and clicking on the Enter Chat button. The chat room will look very similar to the one below. If you would like to use the JAVA chat room just copy and paste the code below “If you would prefer a Java chat, just the link below in any of your pages” this will then give your web page viewers a link to click on to enter the chat room. The chat room will look very similar to the one below.
